OBITUARY
DR. A. C. OWEN DEATH IN SYDNEY The death has occurred at Neutral Bay, Sydney, of Dr. A. Cameron Owen. MB. Ch.B. (Edinburgh), at the age ot c;j i)r Owen was the fifth son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Owen, of Shellv Beach Road. Ponsonbv. He was educated at Dr. McArthur's College, Auckland, afterward proceeding to Edinburgh in 1896 to take his medical course. Toward the end of his studies he was chosen to go to the South African War with the Edinburgh Hospital Corps. After travelling extensively Dr. Owen returned to New Zealand' in 1904 and started the practise of his profession in Fonsonby, and later at Mount Eden and Lower Hutt. In 1913 ho married Miss Gwlndys Meadowcroft. eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meadowcroft, of Wellington. During the Great War, Dr. Owen served with the Medical Corps in Trentham, where he was at the time of the 1918 epidemic. Owing to poor health Dr, Owen went to Australia in 1922 and practised for some years at Gundagai, New South Wales. He leases a widow and two daughters, Misses Gwynne and Valda Owen, two sisters. Mrs. Hughes-Jones and Mrs. H. IT. Maddox, of Auckland, and two brothers, Mr. Colin Owen, of Seattle, U.S.A., and Mr. H. L. Owen, of Auckland.
