Mrs. H. M. Essex, of Palmerston North, mid Miss M. Essex are at the Royal Hotel. Miss Beryl 1 Campbell, of Herne Bay, will leave to-morrow to spend a holiday at Rotorua. Miss Phillipa Nairn, of Hawke's Bay, left Auckland by the Akaroa .last evening for England. Mrs. Helen Griffiths has returned to Auckland after a holiday spent at The Chateau and Wanganui. Mrs. Talbot and Miss K. Daniels arc among the recent Auckland visitors to the White Star Hotel, Queenstown. Mrs. Sehvyn Miller, of Thames, who has been visiting Auckland for the summer holidays, returned homo yesterday. Mrs. F. P. Worley, Portland Road, Remuera, who has been spending the holidays at Piha, returned to Auckland yesterday. Mrs Frank Graham, of Christchurch, who spent the New Year holidays in Rotorua and Tauranga, has left on her return south. Mrs. H. K. Vickery and Miss Shirley Vickcry, of Castle Drive, will leave at the beginning of the week on a motor trip to the north. Mrs. A. A. Scholes, of Te Kawa, accompanied bv Mrs. A. G. McGruer and family, of Te Aroha, is spending the holidays at Takapuna. Mrs. E. C. Danby, of Sfount Eden, accompanied by the Misses Clare and Avis Danby, have returned from a noliday spent in the north. Airs Lo Cren and Miss Ethel Le Cren, of Shortland Street, have returned to Auckland after having visited Tauranga for the Christmas holidays. Mrs. P. A. Herman left by express yesterday afternoon for Wellington, where she will stay with her daughter, Mrs. A. Sievwright, Fitzherbert lerrace. At a recent music examination of the Royal Schools of Music, Miss Netta Simich, of Auckland, was successful in obtaining her L.R.S.M. Mr. Michael Head was the examiner. On resigning her position with the Wltangarei Harbour Board after 13 years' service, Miss M. A. Vaile was presented by the board with, a handsome chiming clock. 1 he outside staff of the Harbour Board presented Miss Vaile with three cut-glass bowls.
