NEW SOUTH WALES LORD WAKEHURST CHOSEN (Received January 7, 32.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 0 It was announced to-night that Lord Wake hurst has been appointed Governor of New South Wales in succession to the late Sir Murray Anderson. Lord Wakeliurst, formerly Captain John do Vcr© Lodcr, succeeded to the title on the death of his father, the first baron, last April. He was born in February, 1895, and was educated at Eton. During the Great War he served in the Fourth Royal Sussex Pegiinenland was present at Gallipoli. Egypt and Palestine, being mentioned in despatches. In 1919-21 ho was a clerk in the Foreign Office. He represented East Leicester in Parliament from 1921 to 1929 and since 1931 lie has been the member for the Lewes Division of East Sussex. Ho lias published several books, including works on Mesopotamia, Syria and Palestine.
