HOUSING SURVEY
Sir, —Have we really got to that stage of serfdom or, more correctly, to the condition of specimens in a zoo, in which men can enter private residences, examine all the rooms and cross-question women in the absence of their protectors, on their private affairs ? 1 was under the impression that only police officers in criminal investigation, if armed with search warrants, could do this. All the information to which the house survey questions apply could be answered on the doorstep. Am 1 Rip Van Winkle or has this state of affairs come about in my waking hours? Van Winkle.
