FIGURES FOR WHANGAREI MOST RETURNS HIGHER [from our own correspondent] WIIA NG A R EI, Wednesday There is practically an all-round increase in the vital statistics of the Whangarei district for 1936. as shown by the following figures, with the returns for 1935 in parentheses:—Births, 332 (300); Maoris, 43 (33). Deaths, 162 (96); Maoris, 16 (22). Marriage licences issued, 154 (127); marriages performed bv the registrar, 29 (22).
