BUILDING TRADE

NEW WORK IN THE CITY BIG BLOCK OF FLATS PLANNED Somewhat of a revival in building operations throughout the province and in Auckland City is anticipated in the next few months. Plans are in course of preparation for several big buildings in the city, among them being a huge block of Hats. In tho meantime, much of the actual work recently started is in the building of dwelling houses. Eleven dwellings were started over tho holidays in tho city area and in Koltiniarama Road the Auckland Education Department commenced work on a school building in wood and concrete. Two dwellings were commenced in Mount Albert and three at Otahuhu. In Newmarket a start was made on a showroom and petrol station and a showroom and garage. There has been a fair amount of building at Whangarei recently, and work has started in the erection of a large building in concrete to contain shops and offices.
