DELAYS IN CRICKET
FAR TOO MANY INTERVALS Addressing the county cricket secretaries at Lord's oil December .'i, Lieu-tenant-Colonel Rait-Kerr told them that there were far too many intervals and delays iu cricket. Ihe county secretaries blinked and wondered whether they were really at Lord's, but they were there all right, and the M.C.C. secretary was still talking. "Batsmen are much too long getting from the pavilion to the crease," said the colonel bluntly. "The old custom of outgoing and incoming batsmen crossing was a good guide, and if it were enforced 1 am sure it would be appreciated."
