GOLF PROFESSIONAL'S PAY

Henry Cotton, who spent three years as golf professional at the Belgium Club, at Waterloo, is now retained bv the Ash bridge Club, .'lO miles from London. He is in receipt of a higher salary than any other British professional. It is stated to be £IOOO a year. In addition, he will make considerably more through his shop and coaching. Already he has planned to establish a school on an extensive scale. In a large wiredin area he intends to erect a series of open-fronted houses from which his pupils may make their practice shots while protected from the weather. No golfer has ever studied the theory of the game more diligently than Cotton, and he has the reputation of being a first-class teacher.
