LAND SETTLEMENT

THE WAIKATO SOCIETY GRANT OF £30,000 RECEIVED FINANCE BY GOVERNMENT [from our own corrkspondknt] HAMILTON, Tuesday In accordance with an arrangement made some months ago between the Waikato Land Settlement Society and the Government, under which the latter undertook to finance the society's future activities, the Government has advanced the society £30.000. The society issued a floating debenture over all its assets as security for this and future grants. With the money in hand, the society lias paid otf all its liabilities, and the Government is its only creditor. A portion of the grant will be spent on development work.
