WEDDINGS
HOWARD—DOBSON St. James' Church, Thames, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday evening last; when Annie Elizabeth Stewart, only daughter of Mrs. J. Dobson and the late Sergeant J. W. Dobson. was married to Edward George, son of Mr. J. Howard and the late Mrs. Howard, of Mount Eden. The Rev. H. Hughes officiated, and Mrs. J. Lamb played the wedding music. The church was prettily decorated by the bride's friends. The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr. A. Dobson, wore a beautiful gown of embossed silver lame made on classical lines, with the back falling into a long train. The neck was finished with silver flowers, and plaited lame added a novel touch to the bodice. The billowing veil of ivory tulle was arranged with a bandeau of silver leaves anil orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses. The four attendants, Miss Ethel Davis (Te Awamutu), Mrs. J. Whitehead (Thames) and the Misses Jean Dowdle (Lyttelton) and Lorna Howard (Auckland), wore dainty frocks of mist blue lace with full bishop sleeves. The necklines were finished with silver flowers, and around their waists they wore sashes of silver ribbon. They also wore bandeaux of blue delphiniums and carried beautiful bouquets of delphiniums and pale orange roses. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. F. Howard and J. Whitehead. Messrs. J. Jensen and W. Baker were ushers. After the ceremony a reception and dance were held at the Masonic Hall. Mrs. Dobson receiving her guests wearing a gown of vieux rose lace with brown accessories. Mrs. R. Howard wore a navv ensemble. Mr. and Mrs. Howard left by car for a few days' tour before leaving for Australia. Mrs. Howard travelled in a rose pink ensemble with navy and white accessories. DYER—WILLS [from our own corrf.stonpentJ APIA, Dec. 20 A wedding which created much local interest was celebrated at Apia, when Walter Ralph, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Dyer, of Paerata, Auckland, was married to Mabel Xorah, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Wills, of Devonport, Auckland. The ceremony took place in the Anglican Chaplaincy, the Rev. E. W. Moren officiating. The bride, who was given away by Mr. J. G. Miedecke. wore a beautiful frock of creme ripple satin georgette, with a long veil of Chantilly lace. She carried a *heaf of Christmas lilies that had been brought on ice from New Zealand. Miss Gwen Miedecke was bridesmaid and wore a frock of creme dullfinished lace, with a bandeau of crimson roses in her hair. These had also arrived from the Dominion. Mr. W. Wiggle, the best man, and Mr. H. I/ee. the organist, are both New Zealanders. The wedding breakfast was served at the Casino which, like the church, was beautifully decorated with pale pink hibiscus. A reception was subsequently held at Vlulola Plantation, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. H. M oors. Mrs. Moors, who wore a charming frock of floral marocain. received the guests, among whom were the Acting-Administrator and Mrs. Turnhull. The honeymoon was spent, at Magia Plantation, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Miedecke.
