J. Dent, of Mount Eden. M iss Dina Isaacs, Bassett Road, Remuera, has returned from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. I. G. Glennie, St. George's Bay Road, Parnell, will leave on January 12 for Taupo. Miss Margery Worthy, Gladstone Road, Parnell, has returned from a visit to Hamilton. Miss Norah Whineray. of Pukehana Avenue, Epsom, has left for a motor tour of the South. Miss Alison Laery, Ladies' Mile. Remuera. has returned from a fortnight's visit to Rotorua. Miss Edna Thompson, of Claudelands. Hamilton, is visiting Mrs. E. Hill. Gladstone Road. Parnell. The Misses Mollie and Shirley .Tones, of Mangere. are the guests of Mrs. J. C. Ronnie, Mairangi Bay. Miss Margaret Movie, of Christchurch, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. W. Carson, Benson Road. Remuera. Mrs. T. V. Humphrey, of Rotorua. is spending a holiday in Auckland and is at Garden Flats. Mission Bay. The Misses J. and E. Jamison. Birdwood Crescent, Parnell, returned yesterday from a visit to Te Awamutu. Mrs. \Y. A. Boucher and Miss Dulcie Boucher. Orakei Road, Remuera, left by the Wanganella yesterday to visit Australia. Mrs. J. F. Buckrell, of Hataitai, Wellington, and her two daughters, are the guests of Mrs. A. E. Dacre, Cheltenham Road, Devonport. Mrs. Neville Harrison, of North Auckland, and M iss Noel Gresham. of Remuera, are visiting Rotorua and are staying with their parents. Miss Valerie Rowland, of Auckland, who has been spending a holiday with her mother. Mrs. H. Rowland, of Opotiki. has returned home. Miss Diana Goldsmith, of Wellington, who has been spending a holiday in Auckland, has returned home. The Misses Evelyn and Naomi Goldsmith will remain in Auckland until the end of January. A plain and fancy dress ball was held on New Year's Eve by the West Coasters (South Island) Association in the Druids' Hall. A special guest of the evening was the Hon. P. C. Webb. Minister of Mines, who was welcomed by the president of the association, Mr. T. Smith. Miss Montgomery and Mr. Megson won the prizes for fancy dress costumes. Miss A. F. Ironside. M.A.. of Christchurch. is visiting Auckland to attend the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science congress and is staying at Sonoma in Alfred Street. Miss Ironside, who is warden and senior lecturer at the Christehurch Training College specialises in science and hygiene. She was for a short period n member of the staff of the Avery Hill Training College in New Elthain. London, and at one time was lady principal of the Girton College, Bendigo, Australia.
