Kcast (lnvercargill). Pairs: A. Silver and J. A. Yeitrli (West Harbour, Dunedin). Rinks: J. Cowie, L. Wildcrmoth, A. Clark and D. K. Torrance (Southland). Thero were record entries in all events. The weather was fine throughout. DOMINION BOXER BEATEN Eddie Maguire, middlo-woight champion of South Africa, defeated Harry Lister, New Zealand, in the fifth round of a contest scheduled for ten rounds at Wolverhampton recently, the referee stopping the contest 'because Lister had his left eye badly damaged, states the Herald's London correspondent. Maguire was on top from the start. He was too fast for the Now Zealander, and scored with terrific rights to the head in the fourth round. When the bell sounded Lister was obviously weak. Midway through the fifth . round Maguire landed a right to Lister's leit eye, and tlio referee intervened.
