PRESENTATIONS

Members of the police force and the Magistrate's Court staff took leave yesterday of Sergeant J. Daly, who has been transferred from Thames to Otalnilui. Regret was expressed at his departure, and the speakers eulogised Sergeant Daly's qualities. A presentation of a set of silver fish-knives was made. Sergeant Daly has been in Thames for 2} years. His successor is Sergeant Harrison, of Wanganui. A presentation to Mrs. K. Moynihan, who is retiring from the position of police matron after 17J years' service in Auckland, was made by members of the Police Force at a gathering at the Central police station yesterday afternoon. On behalf of those present Superintendent S. Till presented Mrs. Moynihan with a silver coffee service, and wished her every happiness in her retirement.
