THE PRICE OF MILK

Sir, —As a visitor on holiday from Christchurch may I draw attention to the difference in the price of milk? In Christchurch, for one penny, the small pint bottle can be obtained, even from any small dairy shop, and for twopence the larger quart bottle of milk can ho purchased. I have just paid 3jd for a similar quart bottle of milk, and 1 note the Auckland price of the pint bottle as ljd. We are urged to eat more fruit and to drink more milk, but without making any further statement 1 must admit that I was surprised to note the difference in the price of milk in Auckland compared to Christchurch. It is to be hoped that tho milk producing farmers of Christchurch will not go bankrupt. Scalded Milk.
