CLOUDY TO OVERCAST RAIN PROBABLE SOON The wontlicr report anil forecast for i New Zealand, issued last evening h.v, the Government moterologist, were as follows: —A very slight anti-eyclono is passing to the east of the North Island, but a roinplox depression covers the Tasnian Sea area, with low pressure centres near .Norlolk Island and Tasmania. Indications are for north-easterly to northerly winds, light to moderate at first, but freshening, especially in the Far North. Seas slight to moderate, but rising later north of East Cape and in the Cook Strait area. In the eastern Tasnian Sea, strong north-east winds and rather rough to rough seas in tho northern portion. Moderate but freshening northerlies, with . moderate, hut later rising seas, in the southern portion. 'Weather cloudy to overcast in most districts, with mist or fog in many places. Rain developing soon in tho Far North and western areas, and becoming fairly general within the next day or two. Some heavy falls probable in North Auckland. Temperatures warm. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST GENERAL RAIN DEVELOPING The Government meteorologist issued to the Hkkai.d last evening the following special forecast for tho Auckland Province: —North-easterly winds, moderate at first but soon becoming strong, and of gale force in places. Weather becoming cloudy to overcast, with much mist or fog and general rain developing, some heavy falls being probable. Warm temperatures. Seas moderate, but rising north of East Cape. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland.—Fine, cloudy weather prevailed in Auckland yesterday. There was a light northerly wind which freshened toward evening. The sk.v was threatening last evening and there was light rain and mist late last night. Temperatures were warm. The barometer fell about mid-day and then remained steady. Barometer, midnight, falling .. 29.801n. Midnight, Sunday .. 29.95 in. "Wellington.—Warm, with an overcast sky, most of the morning, but there was some sunshine in the afternoon.
