DESTRUCTION OF DRIER [from OUR OWN correspondent} APIA, Dec. 21 A severe loss was suffered last week by tho Hon. I. H. Carruthers, when tho drier on his plantation was destroyed by fire. By some means the floor of the building became ignited and. being so inflammable, tho fire was speedily beyond control. The whole building and half a ton of cocoa beans were lost. A similar fate bofol the drier on Mr. Hcthorington's plantation a few days previously, when the building and a quantity of cocoa was destroyed.
