REQUEST FROM HAWAII AMERICA TO INVESTIGATE NEW YORK, Jan. I The Washington correspondent of tho United Press states that Hawaii will ask the United States Congress at the opening of the new session, for admission to the Union as tho 49th State. At .its request a. joint commission of Congress will visit the islands to conduct hearings and to make investigations preliminary to granting the rank of a State.
