AEROPLANE DEVICE
INVENTION BY INDIAN SLOTTED WING FOR LANDING Times Cable LONDON, Jan. I An Indian, Phiroze Nazir, who holds the Government of India's aeronautical research scholarship, has invented a wing device which the aeronautical correspondent of the Times thinks will greatly contribute to safety in flying, especially in landing. The device opens a slot in the afterpart of the wing, some distance from the trailing edge, when the flap is depressed, resulting in the creation of an air circulation about the after-part of the wing. The invention also delays stalling up to remarkable angles of incidence.
