CHRISTCHURCH FIGURES [RY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday The year 1936 has established a new record in the number of marriages in Christchureh. The total number of licences issued for the year, 1409, was 65 more than the previous highest figure, in 1920. The total number of marriages performed in the registrar's office was 241. The number of births was the largest since 1931, being 2170, compared with 2020 last year. Deaths totalled 1422, compared with 1415 last year.
