The middle-weiirht boxing champion, Frcddip Steele, to-day defeated the former rham•pion, the nfiitrn William Jones. Steele did most of Iho fisrhtinsj in a lame bout of 10 rounds and sroreJ the only knock-down. He misled frequently owing; to Jones' qtiirkn ess. The upecfators only numbered 4000, which was considered disappointing. The uross receipts were less than 10,000 dollars.
