NORTH SHORE DEFEATED
MATCH AT NEW PLYMOUTH [by tklf.grath—OWN cobresfoxdf.xt] NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday Care-free holiday cricket was played, when the North Shore team, of Auckland, was beaten by a North Taranaki team yesterday. The match was to have extended over two days, but rain on Friday prevented play. North Taranaki made 112 and 02 for nine wickets, declared, and North Shore made 77 and 108 for five wickets, North Taranaki winning by 35 runs on the first innings. Curtayne made 34 not out in North Shore's first innings, and in tho second C. ('. Dacre, the former Gloucester professional, played a fine innings for GO. M. P. Donnelly made an excellent 50 in North Taranaki's first innings. J. B. Simpson, for North Shore, took six wickets for 41 and six for 21.
