"Champagne Waltz"

FIVE VERSIONS OF NEW PARAMOUNT FILM Being a linguist of note, Gladys Swarthout, brilliant mezzo-soprano, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera Company of Now York, was confronted with the task of making five versions of Paramount's forthcoming musical, "Champagne Waltz." "Champagne Waltz" is to be simultaneously released in 300 cities throughout the world on Friday, January 22, as part of the celebrations in connection with the silver jubilee of the founding of Paramount Pictures by Mr. Adolph Zukor, now chairman of the board of directors. For this purpose, Miss Swarthout was required to make five separate versions of the picture. She made one in English, and the others in German, French, Italian and Spanish. The story is sot in the city of Vienna, where Gladys Swarthout appears as a direct descendant of Strauss, and a singer who renders his songs much to the delight of all Vienna. She is the reigning personality in this city, until Fred MacMurrav, the leader of a modern American dance band, visits Vienna and moves Miss Swarthout from the spotlight of public admiration. This brings about the climax of romance, drama, and delightful music. There are five outstanding songs heard in "Champagne Waltz," namely "Paradise in Waltz Time." "Champagne Waltz," "When is a Kiss Not a Kiss?" "Could 1 be in Love?" and "Merry-Go-Bound."
