RAIN INTERRUPTS TOURNEY 'J'lie Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's handicap tournament has been transferred from the Stanley Street courts to the Windmill Iload courts. There was no play yesterday on account of rain hut, if conditions are suitable, play will commence at 5.30 o'clock this morning. TOURNAMENT CANCELLED [from our own correspondent] VVHAXGAREI, Friday The North Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament, which was to have been commenced at Whangarei to-day, has been cancelled for this season. This decision was reached this afternoon by the committee on account of the heavy rain of the past few days, the unfavourable weathei prospects and the absence of many competitors who. owing to floods, were unable to Teach Whangarei to-day. The association tad decided to make a chanse in the date from Easter to Xew Ysar, chiefly with a view to securing fine weatlior.
