LEAVE FOR THE STAFF NEW REGULATIONS GAZETTED New regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act, governing the hplidays to which departmental employees ara entitled, have been gazetted. The regulations state that annual leave is to be granted as follows to every departmental officer and every temporary employee who is retained in employment for more than a year:— Continuous service for 10 years or more, three weeks' leave; less than 10 years, two weeks; message bovs, after one year's complete service, one week; "temporary workmen with one year's service, one week; temporary workmen with at least two years' service, two weeks. The granting of leave is to be subject to the satisfactory performance bv the officer of his departmental duties. It is also provided that where an officer has been absent on sick or special leave, with or without pay, for more than 30 clays in a year, the period of annual leave is to be reduced by one (lav for every 30 day« of absence. In special cases the Director-General of the department may grant further leave.
