MURDERER AT SHANGHAI SHANGHAI, Dec. 20 The rope broke when an Indian policeman, Atma Singh, was being hanged in the municipal gaol to-day for the murder of a fellow-constable. Singh fell 10ft. and was taken to hospital suffering from concussion. His neck was also injured. ]t is understood that the British Ambassador to China will now reprieve Singh. Ho was convicted in a British Court.
