A COCKTAIL PARTY

FUNCTION ON ACHILLES NAVAL OFFICERS AS HOSTS In contrast to tho rushing seas and grey skies without, the crowded interior of H.M.S. Achilles presented a cheery and comfortable scene last evening, when the commander and officers of the ship entertained a number of guests to a cocktail party. Tho guests were escorted from cars and boats to the ship's deck, safely protected from wind and rain by brilliantly striped umbrellas. Within, soft lights shining on the immaculate pale green painted woodwork and highly polished brass made a formal setting for a. happily informal gathering.
