AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP NORTH SHORE COMPETITION VICTORY FOR B. G. THOMSON The annual open amateur championship tournament of tlio North Shore Golf Club was concluded yesterday under atrocious weather conditions, a high wind being accompanied by heavy rain, which fell incessantly throughout the afternoon. Tho final resulted in a win for B. G. Thomson, of tho Auckland Club, this player defeating J. B. Graham, of tho Heretaunga Club, Wellington, 5 and -1. Under tho prevailing conditions the players were left to go round tho sodden course without any gallery whatsoever. The final' of the North Shore handicap was won by P. Foster, North Shore, who defeated J. Graham, sen., of Feilding, i up. Results of the semi-finals, played in tho morning, were:— Open Championship.—J. B. Graham, Heretaunga, heat IX 11. (irahain, Feildinx, at the Kith; I). <i. Thomson, Auckland, beat H. Stevens. North Shore, at tho '_> , _' nd. North Shore Handicap.—P. Foster, North Shore, heat, I>. Martin, Onewhoro, at tho ItMli; J. Graham, sen., Feilding, beat C. Astloy, Darg.-ivillo, <> ami I. In a Stableford bogey match played in the morning A. H. Browne, .'ll, 2—Mil, won on tho count hark from G. Philson. 'JB, 8 ;»(>. A four-hall best-ball match in the afternoon was won by O. Wolfgramni and H. E. Goodwin, 2 up.
