NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING

ADVANTAGES PRAISED PROMINENT INDUSTRIALIST [l-ROM our own correspondent] SYDNEY, Dec. 24 The advantages of press advertising wore praised yesterday by Mr. L. H. Hartland-Swann, managing director of Lever Brothers, Limited, one of the largest advertisers in the world, who is visiting Sydney in the course of a tour of Australia and New Zealand. Among other big projects, Mr. HartlandSwann directed the advertising associated with the Victory Loan Campaign in Great Britain and was formerly deputy president of the British Association of Advertising. "J n spite of all the other useful forms of advertising, the press is still the principal medium," Mr. HartlandSwann said. "Alter all, if a newspaper has a big service and circulation, it means that the advice given is sound and its news good and comprehensive. With such a newspaper, it is logical to assume that the trade news columns will produce similar results to the advertiser."
