AVERAGES TO DATE • HAMMOND HEADS BATTING VOCE THE LEADING BOWLER fhe most successful batsman to date in the cricket test matches is W. R. Hammond, of England, who heads the averages with 128 for two completed innings. His total runs are 256 and his highest score is 2:11 not out. Three of the English batsmen have better averages than that of the first Australian. Einglotou, who has 4(5.'J for four completed innings, with a highest score of 100. \ oce easily heads the bowling lists, having taken 17 wickets for L'W runs at a cost of 7.S runs per wicket.
