NANKING PRESIDENT

JOY OVER HIS RELEASE PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION NANKING, Dec. 27 Twenty 'thousand people attended a demonstration at the Nanking aerodrome to-dav in celebration of Chiang Kai-shek's release. The War Minister, General Ho Ying-chin, read a message from Marshal Chang Hsueh-liang saying that recent events had proved that the nation under the Republican organisation was a forceful State. Several of "hose kidnapped at Sian with Chiang Kai-shek and now released include the President's chief of staff and vice-Minister of War. It is rumoured that Mr. T. V. Soong will replace Chi an;; Kai-shek shortly.
