DESPATCHING TRAINS
THE AUCKLAND STATION EFFICIENT ORGANISATION Efficient organisation by the Railway Department has resulted in a remarkable record being established in the despatching of trains from Auckland station during the present holiday period. For tlio last week an average of about nine expresses have left Auckland daily and practically every one has been sent away at the scheduled time. The longest any express has been delayed is eight minutes, the occasion being a few days before Christmas, when an unavoidable late delivery of heavy local and overseas mails by the Postal Department held up an afternoon express to Wellington. Most expresses arriving at .Auckland also been well on time.
