OLD MAN SHOT

CONDITION NOT SERIOUS POLICE MAKE AN ARREST [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON. Friday An old man is in hospital and a young man is under arrest as a result of a shooting incident which occurred in Roy Street, Newtown, to-day. The injured man is Mr. John McMillan, aged 79, who was taken to the hospital of the Little Company of Mary with a pea-rifle bullet in his ribs. Late tonight his condition was reported to bo satisfactory. The injured man lived at 47 Roy Street, where the incident is alleged to have occurred. The young man who wa| arrested will be charged in the Magis* trate's Court to-morrow morning.
