AWAPUNI GALLOPS PAPER SLIPPER IMPRESSES [nv TKIiKGRAnr —OWN COURKSPONDKNT] FALMERSTON NORTH, Friday Rain.oll Tuosiluy will ensure tlio best track conditions for tho Manawatu meeting. Olio of tho most impressive gallops this morning was that by tho top weight iti tho Fitzherbert Handicap, Paper Slipper, who ran 1.18 4-5 for six furlongs, the Hags being on the extreme outside of tho course proper. Thermidor also registered a smart oilort in running six furlongs in 1.19 2-5. 'Tho Manawatu Clip candidate, Top Notclr (S. Anderson), had Day Dross (A. C. Messervy) as a partner over seven furlongs. While the time, 1.36 2-5, was not impressive, Top Notch was travelling well within herself throughout, while tho oilort ol Day Dress was a good one. Emissary (1). Hall) ran three furlongs along the back easily in 41s. Now that a good track is likely, tho Legionnaire gelding should play his part well in tho Fitzherbert Handicap. Allspice and Invoice ran half a mile in 51 l-ss. Lazybones boat Screamer over three furlongs in 38s. Orac beat Pan go over six in 1.30 4-5; Tosh beat Hunting l/odgo over four in 53 2-ss, and Symcony recorded 51 4-ss. Gay Molly easily accounted for Tipsy Miss over three in 38s.
