RETIRING MATRON HONOURED The retiring matron of tho Papatoetoe Orphan Homes, Miss Hooker, was entertained by the staff this week at a social evening, when tributes of their affection and esteem were tendered. The sub-matron, Miss McNally, on behalf of the staff, presented Miss Hooker with a set of silver spoons and forks. SIIO expressed tho high esteem and regard which Miss Hooper had won from the staff in her administration and their regret at her departure. A bouquet of flowers was presented by Miss Coxhead. Supper was served in the matron's sitting room.
