VIOLENT COLLISION

MOTOR-CAR STRIKES POLE TWO PASSENGERS THROWN OUT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday A burst tyre caused a motor-car travelling from Marton to Levin to get out of control near Bulls yesterday morning, and conic; into violent collision with a telegraph post. Two passengers were thrown from the car, and one, Miss E. Hobbs, of Kairanga, suffered a fractured right leg. The other, Mr. J. G. Douglas, of Levin, was unhurt, and the driver, Mr. L. H. Wilson, of Levin, also escaped injury. Tho injured woman was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital. The motorcar was a complete wreck.
