PRESENTATIONS MADE
AUCKLAND TRAVEL CLUB The final luncheon of the Auckland Travel Club for the year was held in Milne and Choyce's Reception Hall yesterday. Mr. J. A. C. Allum presided over a large attendance of members. After an address by Mr. H. E. Hyde, a London journalist associated with the League of Nations at Geneva, presentations were made bv the chairman to Mrs. G. T. Simpson and Mrs. Victor Mackv in appreciation of their work for the club during the year. Many parcels of toys for distribution among the children of the Maoris at Orakei and also of Maori returned soldiers which had been contributed by club members, were received on behalf of the Orakei Maoris by Mrs. Maungatai Babbington, who thanked members for their generosity. A presentation was also made to Mr. and Mrs. Allum by Mrs. Mackv Floral shoulder sprays were presented to Mrs. Greenfield, Mrs. M. Gullev and Miss lsobel McKinnon, who had assisted with the musical programmes during the year, and to the following members of the committee:—Lady Wilson, Mrs. O'Donaghue, Mrs. Raymond Sheath, Mrs. H. T. Merritt, Mrs. A. Cerutty, Mrs. Bishop, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, Mrs. .Tames Pascoe. Mrs. S. T. Wicksteed. Dr. Gladys Rowley, Mrs. ,T. W. Tatters field and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor. Special mention was made of the work of Mrs. G. K. Anderson, convener of the committee which decorates the passenger ships with flowers on their arrival in port.
