IMPROVING CABINS

WORK ON THE AORANGI EXTENSIVE ALTERATIONS Further extrusive improvements to the first class passenger accommodation in the Aorangi, which arrived from Sydney yesterday, was commenced on the voyage across the Tasnian. The cabins on B and C decks were modernised and refurnished a year ago and it is now planned to alter and redecorate the remainder of the cabins, about 120, 011 D and E decks. A gang of workmen was busily ongaged throughout the journey from Sydney on the first part of the work and about 1G cabins 011 I'] deck were dealt with. Some have been greatly enlarged, while others that have not been increased in size have been changed from two to single berth cabins. Owing to the demand for accommodation it will not be possible to continue with the work until the Aorangi returns to Sydney from Vancouver, when the other cabins will be completed. The gang of workmen will return to Sydney from New Zealand. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the repair superintendent, Sydney, Mr. Donald Campbell, who also travelled from Australia by the vessel.
