SHOWERS ON WEST COAST

The weather report and forecast f or New Zealand, issued last evening b? the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —An anti-cyclone extends across the Tasman Sea on to the North Island, hut pressure is still rather low in the Far South. A\yclone appe ars to be developing at present over Northern New South Wales. Indiestions are for winds between north-west and south-west, the prevailing force mainly moderate hut freshening at times about and south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough on parts of the West Coast south of Cape Egmont and in Foveaux Strait, otherwise slight to moderate. Jll the Eastern Tasman Sea, west to south-west winds, light to moderate in the northern portion, with slight to moderate seas, and moderate to fresh with rather rough seas, in the southern portion. The weather is likely to lie fine in most districts, but some scattered rain is still .probable on the West Coast, and in the far southern portions of the South Island, with cool night but warm day temperatures.

SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST FINK WITH LIGHT WINDS The Government meteorologist issued to the Hkp.aijj last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: Light to moderate southwest to westerly winds. The weather is likely to be fine, with cool night but warm day temperatures. Seas slight to moderate.

YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Fine hut cloudy weather prevailed in Auckland yesterday. There was a moderate to fresh southwesterly wind and conditions were warm. The temperature at 4 p.m. was G6 degrees. The barometer rose bteadily during the afternoon. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 30.20!n Midnight, Sunday .. 30,101 ii.' Wellington.—lt was a brilliantly fine day, with a north-westerly bree;« which freshened in the afternoon. The minimum temperature on Sunday night was 51.2 degrees, and the maximum yesterday 6-3.0 degrees. Christchureh. —The weather wae; fine and sunny, with a light north-easterly breeze in the morning, and a light north-westerly wind in'the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 72.5 degrees. The barometer rose slowly to yO.ClOin.

Dunedin. —The day was calm and mild. The sun .shone in the morning, but the sky was overcast in the afternoon. The maximum temperature wsj 64 degrees. The barometer rose to 29.90 in.
