CRIPPLED CHILDREN
"TINY TIM" OUTING HELD DICKENS FELLOWSHIP A number of crippled children undergoing treatment in tho Auckland Hospital spent a happy afternoon on Saturday as tho guests of tho Auckland branch of tho Dickens Fellowship. Tho children were taken for a "Tiny Tim" outing in 15 motor-cars along Tamaki Drive to St. Holiers, and from there to Cornwall Park, where they were welcomed by Mr. H. C. Robinson, president of tho Dickens Fellowship. Owing to tho rain, afternoon tea and ice creams were dispensed in tho kiosk, whore Mr. Robinson told tho children the story of Charles Dickens and of his sympathy for those in misfortune. Clever juggling tricks by Mr. Norman Tate, tho "fun-doctor," created considerable wonder and amusement, while further entertainment was provided by the singing and dancing of littlo Joy Rountreo and the humorous recitations of James Rountrce. Balloons, toys, sweets and other Christmas gifts were distributed by tho committee of ladies.
One of the young guests. Master Bussell Turner, expressed thanks on behalf of his fellow patients for the very pleasant afternoon thev had spent. The catering arrangements were 111 charge of Mrs. M. Free, convener of the Little Dorritt Division, assisted by Mrs. M. Wetherell, Mrs. J. W. Kealv. Miss M. Robinson, Miss P. Durrieu. Mrs. C. E. Perkins, Sirs. Pilkington. Mrs. C. H. Forte, Miss Lavers and SI iss Hardwick.
