MOTORS ON DISPLAY
CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE
CROWDS BRAVE THE RAIN
In spite of wet weather, nearly 2000 people attended the Concours d'Klegance staged in the gardens of Ellerslie racecourse on Saturday by the New Zealand Motor Racing Drivers' Association. The gardens provided an excellent setting for a motor-car beauty competition, and the rain was not sufficiently heavy to prevent the public from inspecting the exhibits. Points were awarded by the judges for such features as appearance, comfort, eoachwork, mechanical details, while marks were lost for blemishes, rust, spots and similar defects. The organisation was in the hands of thu chairman of the association, Mr. i{. M. Grierson, and the show proceeded without a hitch of any sort. This was particularly creditable in view of the fact that no similar event has been held in the Dominion before.
