TENSION ACUTE

BERLIN AND SOVIET CONDEMNED GERMAN ANGRY PKESS COMMENT " RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE " By Telegraph—l'ress Association—Copyright LONDON, Nov. 23 The Star suggests that an interview between the German Ambassador, ITerr von Ribbentrop, and the British Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, this morning related to Germany's diplomatic break with Russia.

The Berlin press furiously attacks the death sentence passed on the German mining engineer, Stickling. The official Volkischer Beobachter says: "Spain is no longer a battlefield of civil war but the scene of a Russian offensive against the world."

An announcement that the sentence has been carried out on Stickling and his eight associates is expected hourly. The German Ambassador at Moscow revisited the Foreign Office this afternoon and again appealed for the life of Stickling, urging that the sentence be commuted to penal servitude.

BRITISH FASCISTS CLAIM BY SIR O. MOSLEY RETURN OF GERMAN COLONIES BERLIN, Nov. 23 111 an interview to-day with a representative of the Lokal Anzeiger, the British Fascist leader, Sir Oswald Moslev, claimed that 500,000 members had been enrolled in Britain.

Sir Oswald advocated the return of all the German colonies to create goodwill and to permit Britain, Germany and Japan to present a united front against Bolsheviks.
