WOOL PURCHASES

JAPANESE INTENTIONS "New Zealanders will welcome us— I suppose Japanese buyers will take about 100,000 bales this season," stated Mr. S. Misliima, a wool buyer who arrived from Sydney by the Maungniim yesterday on a holiday visit to the Dominion. Mr. Mishima, who intends to visit the wool sales while he is in New Zealand, said that the Japanese buyers wanted to purchase as much wool as possible here, but their demands would be governed by the market. They would not confine their buying to one class of wool, but would be in the market for the full rango from Lincoln to fine half-bred. The tariff dispute with Australia has resulted in Japan deciding to confine her purchases of wool this season to South Africa, New Zealand and South America.
