INTEREST AT WHAKATANE [BY TELEGRATH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Saturday Steps to form a motor-cycle platoon in Whakatane were taken last night, when 20 members of the Mercury Auto Club were addressed by Lieutenant E. J. Browning. The success of the platoon would depend entirely on the enthusiasm shown by those who volunteered to join. Lieutenant Browning said. Six days camp would be held each year and the men would be paid for attending. J hey would also be remunerated for the tune devoted to parades and week-end bivouacs. . A further meeting will be held to make finryl arrangements.
