MORRINSVILLE GUILD

The president of the Presbyterian ladies' guild, Mrs. H. J. Barford. entertained the executive members and friends at a social afternoon at her home in Thames Street, Morrinsville, last week. Competitions, interspersed with songs and recitations, were enjoyed. Target croquet and clock golf were played on the lawns and afternoon tea was served indoors. Each guest came representing a song, which made an amusing guessing competition. On behalf of fellow members, Mrs. Navlor presented the president of the guild, Mrs. Barford, with a posy of flowers and the secretary, Mrs. R. Ramsay, and the treasurer, Mrs.' W. Finlayson, with shoulder sprays. Recitations were given by Miss J. Fagan and songs by Mrs. Barford. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. W. Morrice. The competition winners were: Mrs. J. if. Arndt, Mrs. Pilkington, Mrs. P. J. Cooper, and Miss J. Mollify re. Those present were: —Mesdames It. Ramsay, \V. Finlayson. W. Morrice, G. A. Navlor, D. C. McLeod, K. Porter, J. Cauilield. K. R. Strand. B. Pilkington. J. I/. Faulkner, K. Campbell, J. Bartles, L. Havward, J. Wilson, P. J. Cooper, McCormack. W. Fulton, .T. L. Arndt, W. Hartley, F. Main, Misses J. Melntvre and J. Fagan.
