TEMPERANCE WORK

The linn 1 mooting of the year of the Takapuna branch of the W.C.T.U. was held recently. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. G. Winstone; vice-presidents, Mesdames KeyMolds and Escott; lion, secretary, Mrs. Mowbray; lion, treasurer, Mrs. Galbrait'i; "white ribbon" agent, Mrs. Morgan; birthday league, Mrs. Roper; devotional, Mrs. Reynolds; temperance facts, Mrs. Lewis; press correspondent, Mrs. Blackwcll. Mrs. Reynolds gave an address, telling of the work of the various missions. The president and secretary were both presented with bouquets as a token of the. members' appreciation of their efficient work during the year. A paper from Mrs. Taylor was read.
