Mrs. Eric Stevens, of New Plymouth, is at the Hotel Cargen. Mrs. R. B. Wilson, Garden Jtoad, Remuera, will leave to-morrow to visit Masterton. Miss Barbara S ted man, Woodley Avenue, Remuera, is spending a holiday in Hamilton. Miss El lie Reed has returned to the Bay of Islands after having, visited Poverty Bay. Miss Nena Farrelly, of Te Puke, is the guest of Mrs. Karl Watson, Victoria Avenue, Remuera. Mrs. H. C. Co I son, Dilworth Avenue, Remuera, will leave to-morrow on a brief visit to Masterton. Mrs. N. L. Mackv, of Mission Bay, will leave to-morrow to attend the wedding of her brother in Masterton. .Miss Elizabeth Blake, director of the British Drama League in New Zealand, is the guest of Mrs. T. P. Weatherhog in Hamilton. Mrs. Scott Wilson, of Parnell, and Miss Jean Wilson, of Mountain Road, Kpsom, will leave to-morrow on a brief visit to the Wairarapa. Mrs. W. R. Wilson will leave to-day for Masterton to attend the wedding of her son to Miss Una James, which will take place on November 21. Mrs. Edward Marsack, of Melbourne, accompanied by her daughter, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bullock Webster, of St. Heliers Bay. Mrs. Ernest Guppy and her two daughters have arrived from England to take up their residence in Auckland. They are at Norana Avenue, Remuera. Mrs. Gerald Stead, Grand View Road, Remuera, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. S. Alexander Lennox, in Wellington, has returned home. Mrs. Gordon Dransfield and Miss May Dransfield, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, are passengers by the Otranto which will reach Sydney from England on December 3. At the Station Hotel are: —Mrs. H. Wickham and Mrs. W\ E. Hookev (le Puke), Mrs. R. J. McEldownev (Papamoa), Mrs. McAlpine (Morrinsville), Mrs. T. W. Morris (New Plymouth), Miss M. Harris (Te Aroha). The W 7 hangarei Orphans' Club concluded its first season on Saturday evening with a night for ladies, when there was an attendance of about 100 guests. The president, Mr. P. H. Basley, welcomed the visitors and stated that this year's session had been a most successful" and happy one. and he looked forward to next year's activities with anticipation. An enjoyable programme was presented during the ingAn At Home was held by the members of the Huntly Croquet Club last week on the local lawns, when about 50 members and visitors were present. The president of the club, Mrs. G. A. Green, extended a welcome to the guests. Progressive croquet was played, the winners being: A players, Mrs. Hunter (Taupiri); B players, Mrs. lay]or (Waerenga). Other competitions were won by Mrs. Syines (Te Kauwhata), Mrs. Sherson (Waerenga) and Mrs. Boot (Waerenga). Afternoon tea was served by tho ladies' committee. A flag five hundred tournament wits held in the Huntly Bowling Club's pavilion on Saturday evening. The winners were Mrs. W'. D. Partis, Mrs. H. Burton and Mr. D. Luke. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs. W ? . C. Davies, Mrs. R. Hogg and Mr. J. Weaver. The ladies present were: — Mcsdames J. Shaw, G. A. Green, W. C. Davies, E. W. Huston, F. Meek. J. Turton, W.
