INDUCEMENT FOR SARRON Further negotiations between Stadiums, Limited. Sydney, and Pete Sarron, feather-weight boxing champion of the world, took place by cable message last Saturday week. Mr. 1?. Lean replied to Sarron's demand for a guarantee of £IO,OOO by offering him £7500 free of taxation, and return transport expenses for three persons. If Sarron accepts Mr. Lean's terms, it is expected that he will arrive in Australia late in December. Three outstanding Australian boxers have been selected as opponents for Sarron. They are "Snowy" Clarke, the brilliant West Australian champion; Mickey Miller, bantam and featherweight champion of Australia; and Max Richards, of Queensland. Clarke, who is suffering from a slight injury to his left hand, notified Mr. Lean that the trouble was responding to treatment, and that he would be fit to fight alter the New Year. Stadiums, Limited expects an early reply from Sarron! Sarron visited Australia in 1929. Mr. Lean is planning also an openair fight at Wellington between Sarron and an opponent to be selected.
