TAR-SEALING CONTRACT [from our own correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday Tenders for tar sealing the remaining portion of six miles of the Tahuna Road were considered by the Piako County Council yesterday. The only tender received was that of W. S. Goosman and Company, Limited, for £9691. Tlio engineer's estimate was £9012, allowing lor the shoulders to bo of second-class metal from Cowans Road quarry, while the tenderer had allowed for first-class metal. If the Main Highways Board agreed to tlio use of secondclass metal for shoulders this would reduce the cost by about £4OO. The tender was accepted and has been forwarded to the Highways Board for approval.
