VISIT TO PIJNEDIN TROUT BROUGHT FOR MAYOR MEETING WITH MR. LOVELOCK } 11V TELEGRAPH —OWN COIUIESfONDENT] 1)1/NIC DIN, Tuesday The girl flier, Miss Jean Batten, arrived in Dunedin this afternoon from Queenstown, bringing a present of a trout for the Mayor, the Rev. J l ',. T. Cox. Miss Batten was fishing from a launch on Lake Wakatipu on Monday afternoon, and caught her rirst trout, keeping one to present to the Mayor. On her arrival to-day, Miss Batten said she was feeling much better alter her holiday at Fran:'. Josef and Queenstown. She was now much improved in health, and was glad to bo able to resume her tour of the Dominion. When motoring to Dunedin from Queonstown to-day, shortly after leaving Roxburgh, Miss Batten thought she recognised one of the occupants of a motor-car travelling in the opposite direction, ami had her car stopped. The other car also stopped, and out stepped another famous New Zealander, Mr. J. K. Lovelock. "The last time 1 met Mr. Lovelock was at a banquet in London, shortly before he leit to take part in the Olympic Gaines at Berlin," Miss Batten said. "It was curious that our next meeting should take place at a lonely spot in Central Otago."
