TROOPS AND HIGHWAYMEN THE BUFFS IN ACTION British Wireless RUGBY, Oct. 10 A communique issued by the High Commissioner of Palestine. Sir Arthur Wauchope, refers to a patrol of the 2nd Battalion, the Buffs, being fired upon near Milya, a village in Acre subdistrict. The communique states that the troops, in co-operation with airmen, dispersed the assailants, who were believed to have been Druses from Syria. Later it was established that they were highwaymen and not political rebels. It is believed that three casualties were inflicted by the troops. One British officer and one private were slightly wounded. Early on Saturday morning in Tel Aviv, two Arabs were shot and wounded by unknown assailants who escaped. The condition of one of them is serious. ARABS SENTENCED DEATH OF A POLICEMAN JERUSALEM, Oct. 1!) After pleading guilty, four Arabs were sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment at the Nazareth Assizes for the murder of a British policeman.
